Grief is a different journey for everyone, and it certainly doesn’t end just because a funeral has happened. Below is a selection of specialist support services which you may find useful, either for yourself, or for someone you know.

A project to connect and support people through grief and loss, St Clare run pop up cafes at various locations throughout the region, including Stansted, Harlow, Saffron Walden, Sawbridgeworth, Dunmow, Epping, and Hatfield Heath, as well as online community chats.
They also support young people (aged 18-30) through their Youth Bereavement Cafe.
Run by the bereaved, for the bereaved, the Good Grief Trust has a wealth of resources on their website, and run pop-up cafes to provide support for bereaved local communities and families.

Because you don’t have to deal with grief alone. Cruse offer support via their website, national helpline, live chat, group, zoom, telephone or one-to-one in person support, with the help of 4000 specially trained bereavement volunteers.
A campaign by Hospice UK, providing bereavement support, as well as helping workplaces understand the needs of their employees who are carers, bereaved, or unwell themselves.
They aim to encourage conversations about death, dying, and bereavement, and make a positive change in end of life care for the benefit of everyone affected.
24/7 phone support for anyone who needs it on 116 123.
A national signposting website helping those who have been bereaved find emotional and wellbeing support, including support in an emergency if required.
The Miscarriage Association supports anyone affected by miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or molar pregnancy, with a helpline (01924 200799), web chat facility, online forums, and UK-wide support groups.

Saying Goodbye provides information, advice, support and more to anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby, at any stage of pregnancy, at birth, or in infancy.

Tommy’s believe that every baby lost is one too many, who refuse to accept that a baby’s death is just ‘one of those things’.
The leading stillbirth and neonatal charity in the UK, Sands provide support and care for those affected through their freephone helpline (0808 164 3332), mobile app, local support groups, and website resources.
Support for parents and their families after the loss of a child. They have a helpline (0345 123 2304) and online resources.
Supporting families of a baby or child of any age who is dying, or support for children who have been bereaved. They provide confidential bereavement support by phone (0800 028 8840), video, or instant messenger, and in person in select areas of the UK.
Widowed and Young, or WAY, is a support network for anyone who’s lost a partner before their 51st birthday – married or not, with or without children, inclusive of sexual orientation, gender, race and religion.
With a host of support services, Winston’s Wish offer specialist bereavement support for children and their families affected by the sudden death of someone important to them, such as by suicide or accidental death.
Winston’s Wish offers support for children and young people (up to 25) who are grieving, with a Freephone helpline (08088 020 021) and online resources.
Adfam offers support for those affected by a friend or family member who struggles with addiction, and has a selection of resources which can help following bereavement.
The only UK-based organisation offering support to adults impacted by suicide loss.
Because pets are family too. The Blue Cross offer free and confidential support for those dealing with, or facing, a loss of a beloved pet 7 days a week via calls, webchat, and email.
